We've posted some more comparison pics of the 480p component cable for the Wii as well as share our experience when we test out playing a Gamecube game that supports 480p. The results are quite positive.

Using a variety of exploits, the homebrew community has finally struck gold and figured out how to get it all going on the Wii. Of course, this could very well be a problem for Nintendo if folks use this exploit to run emulators (they will and, more than likely, are), bypassing the Virtual Console to play any ROM they wish.

CVG interview with Nintendo confirms that you do not need the Wii Classic Controller to play Virtual Console games, GameCube controllers will work as well. Also, the Wii Remote can be used for NES games, while the Wii Classic Controller can NOT be used for GameCube games.

Below, you can see screenshots of the the Wii version, and the Gamecube version of Cars. You can cleary see a graphical difference. It looks pretty good too, its nothing "HOLY CRAP" amazing, but on a Nintendo console, it looks pretty cool. You can see a lot more of the textures in the Wii version than in the Gamecube one.

I just received an official statement from Nintendo's PR team stating that earlier reports that the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess would not be coming to retail outlets in the US were false. The game will in fact be available at retail outlets nationwide on Dec. 13th.

Joystiq has confirmed with numerous Gamestop and EB Games retailers that the Gamecube version of the newest Zelda offering has been removed from their computer system.
